Transparency Side Events at COP23

From 6 to 17 November 2017, delegations from 195 countries will be gathering in Bonn for the Conference of Parties (COP) 23 to drive forward the implementation of the Paris Agreement. Various side events will take place during the two weeks of official negotiations. Many of these are thematically related to the Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement. The Partnership is contributing directly to one event hosted by the Georgian Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources Protection (MoENRP), the International Climate Dialogue e.V. (ICD) and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU):

‘Ready for the Enhanced Transparency Framework? – mastering BURs today, tracking NDCs tomorrow’, 07.11.2017/ 6:30-8:00 pm, Meeting Room 4

This event provides a platform for exchanging lessons learned in various countries on the current measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) framework. Participants will be able to share their thoughts on how well countries are prepared for the new reporting requirements under the enhanced transparency framework (ETF), based on their experience with biennial update reports (BUR) and international consultation and analysis (ICA). The event also provides an opportunity to present the results achieved and lessons learned by the Information Matters project, funded by the German Environment Ministry, and in the framework of the Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement in Georgia.
