The workshop of the Cluster Francophone focused on NAMAS, GHG Inventories and INDCs was conducted on October 30- 1 November in Brussels, Belgium and participants from Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Belgium, Morocco, Tunisia, and Cote Ivory and Belgium got together. The workshop was hosted by the French Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency of Burkina Faso, the Federal Public Service Health and Food Chain Safety and Environment of Belgium as well as by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB).

The Cluster Francophone Workshop provided a unique opportunity for African experts and negotiators to benefit from the expertise of the International Partnership on Mitigation and MRV. In doing so it equipped the participating countries by sharing experiences and expert inputs with relevant information and approaches for INDCs, NAMAS and GHG Inventory of mitigation actions in Africa. It provided the sharing of experiences, best case practices as well as giving the right tools and knowledge for each country’s mitigation efforts.

The countries showed high interest in sharing lessons learnt, particularly within the region. The participants identified exchange of experience, knowledge-sharing, priority-setting, as well as the development and dissemination of tools to address priorities enlisted as valuable activities that the Partnership could facilitate.
