GtripleC (2010): Engaging Private Sector Capital at Scale in Financing Low Carbon Infrastructure in Developing Countries

This report gives a comprehensive overview of existing financing instruments for mobilizing private sector investments in low carbon technologies and of the current climate finance debate, and compiles the relevant aggregate data on financial markets. It identifies Green or Low Carbon Bonds on the debt side and two-tier public-private funds with subordinated first loss shares on the equity side as the principal sourcing instruments for climate finance. At the same time, the author bridges the communication gap between the global climate policy domain and the global financial market domain.
