A Toolbox: Human Rights, Sustainable Development & Climate Policies: Connecting the Dots

This initial handbook has been developed to guide relevant actors working with people living in extreme poverty, such as social workers, in their efforts to implement their programs and projects in a manner that takes into account, respects and promotes human rights.

The Toolbox builds on the Handbook by Franciscans International (FI) and ATD Fourth World, entitled ‘Making Human Rights Work for People Living in Extreme Poverty: A Handbook for Implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights’. It focuses on the international mechanisms that can help support the protection of human rights at local and national levels, and the need to ensure a rights-based approach to sustainable development efforts including those for combating climate change and eradicating poverty.
